Two face felony drug charges

Law enforcement agencies charged a couple of Corinth residents with felony drug offenses during the last couple of days.

• Brittany L. Waddell, 32, was arrested on Thursday by the Alcorn County Sheriff's Department and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

The arrest happened about 4:30 a.m. following a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle traveling on Orchard Lane, according to Sheriff Ben Caldwell. During the stop, a deputy found that Waddell, a passenger in the vehicle, possessed approximately 18.5 grams of alleged methamphetamine.

• Jared Weber, 29, of Proper Street, was arrested by the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

The arrest occurred at a safety checkpoint on County Road 944 in Burnsville. After a records check showed he had an outstanding warrant, he was placed under arrest, and a search uncovered some alleged methamphetamine on the driver, according to Sheriff John Daugherty.
