Corinth police investigated reports of shots fired near a nursing home Thursday evening.

It appears a couple of vehicles were involved in the incident, which occurred about 7 p.m. in the area of Proper Street and Lilac Street in the vicinity of Whitfield Nursing Home.

Capt. Dell Green said witnesses reported a person in a vehicle, possibly a black truck, fired several times at another vehicle described as a light brown Ford Explorer. It appears the gunfire shattered the black glass of the Ford Explorer.

Witnesses were not able to give a description of the occupants of the vehicles, which left the area at a high speed.

Green said the police department recovered eight shell casings on Proper Street. The broken glass was on Lilac Street.
