Magnolia Regional Health Center names new CFO

Marc Nakagawa

Magnolia Regional Health Center named a new chief financial officer/senior vice president of finance for the hospital and all of its entities.

Marc Nakagawa will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations for MRHC, including financial reporting, financial planning and monitoring cash flows.

With 16 years in health care finance executive roles and 27 years of total accounting experience, Nakagawa brings extensive knowledge and acumen to the leadership team at MRHC. He has worked for Community Health Systems Inc., one of the nation's largest hospital operators; Health Management Associates Inc. of Naples, Fla.; and Mission Health, based in Asheville, N.C.

Nakagawa arrives at MRHC after his most recent role as CFO of Alliance Health Central, based in Durant, Okla. While there, he was responsible for overseeing financials for both Alliance Health Durant and Alliance Health Madill. Prior to his role with Alliance Health Central, he served as CFO for Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory, serving in his executive role under Merit Health ownership and Curae Health ownership after the hospital was acquired.

"I am excited to have Marc join our executive team and become a member of our organization," said Ronny Humes, CEO of Magnolia Regional Health Center. "We have seen tremendous growth throughout the past decade, and I am confident that Marc, with his years of experience in health care finance, will prove to add value as we continue to work towards providing the highest quality care for the patients we serve."

Nakagawa is a California native and received his bachelor's degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills, just outside of Los Angeles. He and his wife, Shawna, have three daughters — Kyra, Katie and Kimberly.

"I am excited for this wonderful opportunity to join an exceptional organization at Magnolia Regional Health Center," said Nakagawa. "Health care today certainly has challenges now and on into the future, but I am confident that this organization is posed for success. I am blessed to be given the opportunity to serve this hospital, the employees, the physicians, the patients and this community."
