Man charged with rape of juvenile

A Corinth man has been charged with rape in a case involving his daughter.

Andres Manguila, 57, of Fulton Drive, was arrested on Sunday and is charged with rape. He is being held without bond.

Capt. Dell Green said the police department responded to a call of a sexual assault about 10:45 p.m. Sunday. The victim, who is 15 years old, told police that her father had raped her.

Manguila was taken into custody, and his daughter was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Green said Manguila was interviewed the following day and confessed to the accusation.

Several alleged incidents of sexual assault involving the daughter occurred over the past year, said Green.

Four other children ages 2 to 11 live at the same residence. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services was notified of the case, and forensic interviews are to be conducted with the other children.

"It is suspected that at least one other child was assaulted," said Green.

Manguila is not a legal citizen of the country, and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was notified.
