Three charged in burglary involving firearms

Some stolen firearms could be in circulation following a recent burglary, according to the sheriff's department.

Three people have been charged with burglary of a residence in the case — Candida M. Olive, 31, of Glen, who was arrested last Saturday; Lee P. Boggs, 30, of Corinth, who was arrested Thursday; and Dakota N. Bingham, 25, of Corinth, who was arrested on Wednesday by the Hardin and McNairy County sheriff's departments.

"We ask the public if they received or purchased a firearm from any of these individuals to contact Investigator Caleb Marolt at the Alcorn County Sheriff's Office," said Sheriff Ben Caldwell.

The burglary on County Road 512 was reported on April 3. Caldwell said deputies found that individuals had broken into the home and stolen several firearms, and several witnesses reported seeing a red truck at the home. The information led to the individuals and recovery of some of the firearms.

Bingham is being held in McNairy County awaiting extradition.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible in the case, said Caldwell.

He thanked the sheriff's offices in Tishomingo, McNairy and Hardin counties for assistance in the case.
