The Corinth Art Gallery wants to be on the shopping list this season.

As has become tradition at the gallery, the elves have pulled together a creative collection from many artists and artisans to offer plenty of unique and thoughtful gift-worthy choices. A reception for the occasion will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., and the gallery hopes those making the rounds on Black Friday weekend will remember to stop in and visit.

"A gallery is more than just paintings," said Artist Guild President Sonny Boatman. "The variety we have here is endless, from writing pens and bowls to jewelry and photos and prints. It's a good chance to find something unique made by talented people in our region."

And the gallery makes an effort to have a good assortment of reasonably priced items to choose from for the holidays.

In addition to paintings in a wide range of styles and mediums, items on offer include rustic handmade furniture, jewelry made from silver spoons, hand-turned wood items, dichroic glass jewelry, gourd sculptures, dulcimers made of walnut and spruce, candles, birdhouses, note cards, knit and crochet scarves, and items made from old car tags.

Everyone who visits the gallery will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a $50 gallery gift certificate.

The gallery will open on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for last-minute shoppers.

Located at 609 North Fillmore Street, the gallery opens Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 665-0520 for gallery information.
