Tickets are available now for the Havis' Kids Mother Son Ball.

This fundraising party is a great time for mothers and sons to have a special night out together and proceeds go to a good cause.

The Mother Son Ball will take place Friday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Franklin Courtyard.

The Blind Eye DJ from Saltillo is coming back this year and there will be a photographer to capture those special mother-son moments.

"The DJ was wonderful last year to keep the music going," said event organizer Micaela Sanders.

The organizer said several well-known male Disney characters will be making a return appearance, as well.

Along with meeting Disney characters and music, there will be light refreshments, drinks and giveaways for the moms and the boys.

"I think the ball is nice for just the moms and boys to have a date night and for the boys to feel like they are doing something really special for their mom," said Sanders.

This is the second year for the event, which Sanders indicated was very successful last year. Attire for the Mother Son Ball is "Sunday Best" and the idea was to make it elegant and nice for the moms, but still keep it fun for the boys.

"It was so much fun. The boys got to play together and the moms got to talk," said Sanders. "Some of the boys were so big and requesting special songs from the DJ and giving their mom flowers. It was really sweet."

Havis' Kids fundraisers help to pay for special needs children, and one parent for each child, to go to Disney World. The next scheduled trip will be in 2020. Recently, Havis' Kids was able to send about 20 special needs kids to Disney World. Fundraising helped pay for the trip which included not only trip expenses and admission fees to the park, but also at least $300 spending money for each special needs child. Trips are scheduled biennially.

Tickets for the Mother Son Ball are $40 per couple, with $5 each additional boy. Tickets can be purchased at The Five Salon and Spa and Village Outlet.
