Harper Square's new grocery store tenant is weeks away from opening.

The wait for Marshalls, meanwhile, will be a bit longer.

An exact date was not available, but Aldi is set to open in mid-July, with grand opening festivities to be announced in the coming weeks, according to Troy Marshall, division vice president for the grocery chain.

A glance at the front of the Harper Square shopping center could give the impression that Marshalls is also about to open, but that is not the case. The exterior of the store location has been constructed ahead of the interior finishing. While Marshalls has been in contact with the city's building official, a permit is yet to be issued for the interior construction of the Marshalls store, according to Building Inspector Greg Tyson. Both stores were confirmed as coming to Corinth about a year ago as the shopping center's new owner began a makeover of the property.Marshalls, an off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions, is leasing approximately 20,000 square feet adjacent to Hobby Lobby, which opened its 55,000-square-foot store last July.

Aldi touts organic produce, antibiotic-free meats and other healthy options with aggressive pricing.
