Bond denied for double murder suspect

A judge has denied bond for double murder suspect Alize J. Boyd.

The 22-year-old Corinth man appeared in a Alcorn County courtroom on Wednesday where Judge Jimmy McGee denied his bond request.

Boyd remains jailed and is facing two counts of murder and a third charge of attempted murder.

Victims 39-year-old Jason Lovell of Corinth and 24-year-old Christopher Smith of Iuka were pronounced dead at the scene following the shooting on Monday night at the Farmington School Apartments.

Boyd turned himself in at the sheriff's office early Tuesday morning.

The third shooting victim, 33-year-old Paula Russell of Corinth, remains hospitalized at Magnolia Regional Health Center in stable condition.

Sheriff Ben Caldwell said the shooting is under investigation.
